The Suffolk Journal only accepts advertisements that fit the sizes listed below. The Journal does not run classified advertisements, but recommends an 1/8 page ad. Full-page advertisements do not fill the entire 11x17 page; there is a ¼ inch margin at the top of the page for the date. The correct size for a full page ad is 10” x 15 2/3”. The basis for advertising in the Journal is a four-column spread, with each column width equal to approximately 2.375” or 2 3/8” with a 1/8” gutter per every two columns.
1/8 Page 4.875” x 3.875” or 4 7/8” x 3 7/8” $90 on campus; $120 off campus
1/4 Page 4.875” x 7.8” or 4 7/8” x 7 3/4” $120 on campus; $160 off campus
1/2 Page 10” x 7.8” or 10” x 7 3/4” $180 on campus; $240 off campus
Full Page 10” x 15.66” or 10” x 15 2/3” $300 on campus; $410 off campus
Rates are subject to space availability and do not include additional service fees, advertisement design fees or discounts. Please verify the size and price prior to submitting. All advertisements must be submitted by 5 p.m. the Monday before publication to avoid a late fee of $10 for on-campus, $20 for off-campus.
Payment
The Suffolk Journal will bill advertisers within one business week of publication of the advertisement. Balances must be paid off within 30 business days or a $5 per week late fee will be assessed for each additional week payment is overdue.
Submitting an ad
Advertisements should be submitted to suffolkads@gmail.com as an attachment. Attachments should be either a jpeg, bmp, gif or a pdf file.
