NBA FINALS: Watch the Celtics and the Lakers revive their historic rivalry, as the Green go for their NBA-record 17th championship in their first Finals appearance since 1987. Starting tonight in Boston.
MLB ALL-STAR GAME: The American League meets the National League in a battle for home field advantage in the World Series in the 79th edition of the midsummer classic. This game has particular meaning as it is being played in Yankee Stadium, which is slated to close after 85 years, at the end of the 2008 campaign. July 15th, 2008 in Bronx, New York.
LE TOUR DE FRANCE: Some of the best overall athletes in the world look to conquer France's treacherous terrain in the race's 93rd running. July 5th-July 27th, sites throughout Europe.
2008 SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES: Countries around the world will send their best and brightest athletes to Beijing to compete for pride and glory in the 29th Olympiad. August 8th-August 24th, hosted by Beijing, China.
UEFA EURO 2008: Football (that's soccer to you Americans) is king in Europe, and in terms of anticipation, the UEFA tournament is second only to the World Cup. 16 teams from across Europe qualify for the quadrennial tournament, which was won by Greece in 2004. June 7th-June 29th, sites in Austria and Switzerland.
WIMBLEDON: The 132nd edition of tennis' most prestigious tournament will be played under a closed roof at Centre Court for the first time in history, as a retractable roof is still being constructed. Roger Federer and Venus Williams will look to defend their 2007 titles. June 23rd-July 6th, London, England.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP: The Patriots are looking to avenge their Super Bowl loss this season, and will begin their campaign with their annual training camp. Look for the Patriots' new draft picks to fight for roster spots, while getting some pointers from the veterans. Late July-Early August, Foxboro, Mass.
CAPE COD BASEBALL LEAGUE: What some call "baseball in its purest form" resumes in June throughout Cape Cod, as young baseball prospects live, work and play on the Cape all summer. There have been over 1000 CCBL alumni that have played in the Major Leagues. Mid-June through Mid-August, throughout Cape Cod.
BELMONT STAKES: The 140th running of the third leg of horse racing's Triple Crown has increased significance this year, as Big Brown looks to become the first horse to capture the sport's Holy Grail since the horse Affirmed did it in 1978. June 7th, in Elmont, New York.
U.S. OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT: The second major of the golf season will host its 108th edition at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California. June 12th-15th, in San Diego, California.
